If today was payday - Beauty Edition;

1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9

Do you ever say "when I get paid.." or "I'll have to wait until payday"? I do. Probably everyday, especially when payday is less than 2 weeks away I'm like a broken record. I'm always coming up with things I want to treat myself with when I get paid. I've been eyeing up a ton of beauty products lately so have put together a little beauty wishlist for when payday finally shows up!
I've heard a lot about the Origins Super Spot Remover and really want to give it ago, I hate those pesky blemishes. I don't get them very often but when I do they are pretty annoying. I've heard the Super Spot Remover is really good at getting rid of them quick!
I've never tried any Bumble & Bumble products before and I'd love to try the B&B Thickening Shampoo as my hair is really thin, flyaway and doesn't hold volume well. I know they are a little on the expensive side for a Shampoo or Conditioner but I really want to see if they are worth all of the hype. Has anyone tried Bumble & Bumble before?
I really need a new pair of Tweezers to maintain my brows and I've heard the Tweezerman Mini Slant Tweezers are pretty good.  Plus they come in all different lovely colours and are on offer at BeautyBay.com right now!
I've seen the Stila Convertible Colour Compact on lots of blogs and think it looks great, I like the versatile nature and I love cream blushes much better than powder at the moment. I think they give a lovely dewy glow to my cheeks. I'm loving the Stila Convertible Colour in Petunia!
I think the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight mask is a firm favourite with bloggers and will be for a while. I often get dry skin and think this would work wonders on my skin. It contains Japanese Seaweed for added hydration and anti ageing properties.
I really need a new foundation application brush and the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush looks perfect, I've seen it everywhere and it looks like it would do a perfect job. This is near the top of the list for payday.
I really want to try the Clinique Chubby Stick Intensive, they come in a huge range of lovely colours that nourish and protect your lips as well as making them look gorgeous!
Every blogger and there dog must have the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer but not me! I've heard amazing things about it and can't wait to try it! It keeps your make up looking fresh and true all day.
Finally, The Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for lips and Cheeks is similar to the Stila Compact with its versatile lip and cheek application. I love the sleek Bobbie Brown packaging and the fact it comes in lots of colours!

Have you tried any of these products? What will you buy on payday?

Recent Purchases;

Last week I popped into TKmaxx to have a little wander, I always end up coming out with something and last week was no exception. I've been looking for a new small purse and when I spotted this Nica Turquoise beauty I had to have it. It has a lovely lining and lots of pockets for all my rewards cards, discount vouchers and occasionally a little bit of cash. I think the Turquoise Blue colour was what clenched the deal for me. I think it's lovely and at £12.99 not a bad price.
I also bought these Navy Blue and Orange Ked's for £14.99 from TKmaxx, I love pumps and when I spotted that these were Ked's and had a cushions sole and shock absorber impacts I couldn't resist buying them. They look great with my jeans and a casual tshirt, plus they are super comfy!
Lastly, I spotted these Navy Blue drop earrings on my way to pay for some items in Boots they were half price at £3.25 so I couldn't resist. I think they look very elegant and I'm very into Navy at the moment.

Birthday Wishlist;

1,2,3,4
5,6,7,8
It is exactly 1 month until my 24th birthday so I thought I'd put together a birthday wishlist of all the lovely things I've been lusting after lately. I don't have any plans for my birthday as of yet, but I do have a week off work, yay! I'm hoping for nice weather, relaxation and maybe a little retail therapy ;)
I love this Olivia Burton Big Dial Navy watch, I've been looking for a new watch lately and I love the vintage inspired style of the Olivia Burton watches. I love the classic style and the big face!
Olivia Burton watches are a great price and look beautiful.
I reallllyyy want to own the Enrapture Encode Totem Styler, I've seen rave reviews about them and I'm forever curling my hair so I'd love these, plus they are around half price at amazon.co.uk currently.
It's really hard to resist purchasing the new Origins GinZing Energising Moisturiser, I'd love to try this plus it would be my first Origins product. I'm always hearing amazing reviews about Origins products so it's near the top of the list.
I've been wanting some affordable quality make up brushes for awhile now and what better way than real techniques, I love the look of the Core Collection brushes and at £20.99 it's a pretty reasonable price.
I've featured the Envelope Jelly Clutch from boohoo.com before on my blog and I really like it, I think it would be the perfect clutch for a night out, plus the colours are lovely. I'm also fighting a perfume addiction at the moment and couldn't resist adding the limited edition Stella McCartney perfume to my wishlist.
Finally, I haven't owned a bike for a good few years, I used to love cycling, I cycled to school everyday and really enjoyed it so this Summer it is my mission to own a full suspension bike that I can ride around when the weather is eventually a bit more consistent, plus this one is Pink and a very reasonable price of £89.99.

Max Factor CC Colour Correcting Cream;

I've never really tried a Max Factor foundation before and the Max Factor CC Cream is a little more than your regular foundation, after testing my colour match and deciding that I wanted to give it a go I purchased it. I've been using it for about a week now and I really like it. It comes in a choice of three shades Light, Natural and Tanned. I found that I matched the Natural shade pretty well as I'm quite pale. It's a multi-tasking foundation that hides imperfections, balances out uneven skin tone and provides great coverage. It's a light weight, sheer, velvety texture that makes my skin look dewy, even and neutralises the redness in my skin. It really softens the appearance of the flaws in my skin without being heavy or cakey. It actually feels very hydrating and comfortable to wear. On the days where I'm not doing much or just working I like my make up to feel light weight and easy to apply so this is great for my everyday face. It contains natural extracts of Cucumber water, Rose hip extract and Sea Buckthorn. It's also SPF 10 which every foundation should contain and the high foundation pigments provide great natural coverage.
If you're looking for a light weight, natural coverage that keeps skin hydrated I'd really recommend giving this a try, especially with the weather getting warmer we all need something lighter to wear throughout the long Summer days.

Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm;

Elemis has an exciting new product in the form of the Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm* which launched on the 1st of May. It claims to give you beautiful skin in a flash. It hydrates the skin and gives it an instant glow. I suffer with a dull complexion and I'm always looking for something to brighten up my skin so when the New Illuminating Flash Balm came my way I couldn't wait to try it.
The first thing that got me was the beautiful packaging, (I'm a sucker for presentation) Elemis always do simple, sophisticated packaging. The next was the beautiful scent, I always love Elemis scents but this one is a little different, it's a neroil, bitter orange, bergamont and lemon melange, which is mood enhancing, fresh and clean.
It's a rich, luxurious balm that is essentially a beautiful primer. It instantly feels nourishing on application and really absorbs into my skin quickly without leaving any horrible residue. It makes my skin feel moisturised and smooth which is down to the Purple Orchid ingredient which is rich in moisturising polysaccharides and skin-protecting polyphenols to help fight the early signs of ageing. My skin looks much more radiant and luminous which is due to the Noni extract that contains fruit acid to help skin radiance and softness. Lastly, I feel that my skintone is much more even and brighter due to silk mica and acai elements which soften imperfections and combats free radical damage.
The Elemis Pro-Radiance Balm is thick in consistency but not heavy on the skin, it doesn't hide pores or cover blemishes, rather it leaves a soft, subtle glow to the skin as well as boosting moisture and radiance. It's a great base to apply my make up on top and It make a great difference to the application of my daily make up, I find myself not needing to use as much as I would normally.
For a light, moisturising balm that will work all year round and not make your skin feel oily the Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm is perfect.

Garnier 5 Second Blur;

I'm sure you've all seen the TV advertisements for the new Garnier 5 second blur. I did and I was intrigued to see what it was all about. I have plenty of primers that I love so thought one more to try wasn't so bad. I popped into Boots a few days ago and saw this and immediately wanted to try it, the price was very reasonable as most primers are above and beyond £20.
 I couldn't wait to try this and it didn't disappoint! Garnier 5 second blur is a smoothing perfecting primer with opitical effects. It blurs wrinkles, imperfections, open pores and shine. It also contains light reflectors to make your skin look radiant and youthful.
Alittle goes a long way and I apply this after applying my daily moisturisers, it leaves my skin feeling incredibly smooth with a beautiful matte finish. It's an amazing base for applying my make up as I find I use much less make up after using Garnier 5 second blur primer.
The application of the 5 second blue is dreamy! It's a lightweight mousse with a touch of pink that blends so easily into my skin. A word of warning: use this product sparingly, you honestly don't need too much!
 This is going to be great in the Summer when I don't really want to wear heavy foundations and powders, this does a great job of hiding flaws and gives my make up staying power.
Overall, I love the new Garnier 5 second blur primer and highly recommend it as an alternative to your more expensive versions. Another 10/10 product for me.

notonthehighstreet.com haul;

When I was given the opportunity to feature notonthehighstreet.com products on my blog I couldn't pass it up. I love notonthehighstreet for their unique and personalised gifts. I pretty much love everything I see and it's so hard not to spend ALOT, I could sit for hours browsing through the products. I particularly like the home ware products as many can be personalised, especially the prints! I can't wait for David and I to get our own place so that I can go crazy for the home ware products.
 I got to pick four lovely items from notonthehightstreet.com and this is what I chose. This beautiful wood effect photo frame is perfect for one of our holiday snaps and would look great in a beach style room. I love the rustic style and shabby chic effect.
The next thing I chose was the 'home is where the heart is' print which I personalised with my home location, it can also be personalised in many other ways such as your favourite place, your first home or where you grew up. You can also personalise the colours used and the size of your print.
My favourite item out of the four has to be this cute rabbit trinket dish that I am already using to store my earrings in. It's really pretty and I love that it's simple and white.
I'm a real sucker for any kind of hooks or door knobs, I have a little collection of handles and door knobs for when we get our own place and I can do a few DIY projects. When I saw these alphabet hooks I knew I was going to choose them, I of course chose a C and D for our initials. They'll be great for when we move out and can have our own little hooks for keys or something (sad I know). At £6.95 each they are a pretty good price!
 I have to say that delivery is superrr quick and they all came beautifully packaged, I was very impressed.

Which is your favourite item? Have you ever bought anything from notonthehighstreet.com?

Plenty of Prints;

 A few days ago I went to visit my Mum and decided to have a little clear out of some of my stuff that is still there. Routing under my bed I found some of my University work and prints, it really brought back great memories. I loved Uni and would go back in a heartbeat, I love being creative and being passionate about something. This particular project was inspired by many aspects of nature and the element of repeat pattern. I love colour and systematic patterns so Photoshop is one of my best friends when it comes to designing. One of my favourite prints is the floral mirror reapeat prints. I loved designing and developing this print because of the complex layers and explosion of colour.
I've been wondering what to do with the prints and how I could possibly use them, what could I make and create with these fabric samples? Any suggestions are welcome. :)

Pecan, Chocolate & Raspberry Muffins;

 Waking up Sunday morning I had the urge to bake! I love baking, it sounds silly but it's quite therapeutic. I popped to Morrisons and picked up the ingredients to make my Pecan, White Chocolate and Raspberry Muffins. Sound delicious? They are! The ingredients you will need for these lovelies are:
300g of Self Raising Flour
125g of Soft Brown Sugar
1 Egg
250ml of Milk
50g Unsalted Butter (Melted)
125g of White Chocolate (Finely Chopped)
75g Pecan Nuts (Coarsely Chopped)
125g of Fresh Raspberries

To decorate save some of your chopped Pecan Nuts and Raspberries.
These ingredients will make 8 deep filled Muffins.
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 20-25 minutes

Firstly, I'm a pretty organised person and like to have everything laying out in front of me ready so I prepare and weigh all of my ingredients before I do anything else. Separate the dry and wet ingredients and chop your Chocolate and Pecan nuts. Sift your flour, beat the egg and melt the butter. Preheat your oven to 200c (400f) Gas Mark 6.

Mix the Flour and Soft Brown Sugar together.

Whisk together the Milk, Egg and melted Butter.

Now your ready to use those biceps and mix all of your ingredients together. Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry until smooth.

Once smooth add the majority of your Pecan nuts and all of your White Chocolate and mix together. Don't forget to save some of your chopped Pecan Nuts!
Fill your muffin cases with the lovely mixture.

Almost ready, just before you pop these lovelies in the oven decorate with the rest of your chopped Pecan nuts and pop a few Raspberries on each Muffin.
Pop in the oven for between 20-25 minutes or Golden Brown. Rest! Have a cup of tea while you wait.

Ta dah! Don't they look yummy? Transfer to a cooling rack and allow to cool for 15 minutes. Then, eat them! Enjoy. Honestly, you'll love them!
Do you have any tasty recipes?
